Good summer shed delivered on time with no dramas. deducted 1 star as there is no lock ,just a latch but no problem.Reviewer: Luke Atkin from spalding
ordered this summerhouse a few weeks back after viewing one and liking the build quality, when it arrived it was neatly stacked up for me and everything was reasonably organised, however, as the build went through ( i used to work for a shed building firm in the summers as a teenager and had a chippy with me) we began no notice problems, split panels, broken trims, one whole panel wasn't square! so we muddled through it and eventually erected the frame and roof, anyhow, i got up this morning and went to apply the felt. i cut the felt up into three pieces as i was laying it to find THERE WASNT ENOUGH FELT! ITS ABOUT A FOOT TOO SHORT! not happy! so now i am having to rush and pay out more to a local building firm to get the building watertight before it rains again.
don't get me wrong its a promising building, but if your gonna buy one seriously consider swallowing your pride and having them build it, that way you won't have to wade through all the issues that arise with it even though its ludicrous to charge £398 for a few hours work.
on the brighter side this could potentially be built by one person due to the roof and panels coming in smaller parts, however, one of my roofing panels is larger than the rest so will need cutting down before felt can be applied.Reviewer: Rob Clark from Bearsted, Maidstone
The product came flat packed with good clear instructions, and all the parts present.
I built a base, using the flooring as a template, to get it off the ground and this is a must if using the QuickJack system.
Remember to get some sealant in advance to put between the joins. It doesn't come with it and mentions it in the instructions, to make sure it's watertight.
It goes together quite quickly, although it is definitely a two person job, and it's important to remember that as it's wood it won't necessarily go together perfectly.
For me the roof just wouldn't line up exactly with the frame, but there was no real impact.
For the windows I upgraded to poly-carbonate as I was nervous about the glass supplied with it's primary users being children. It only cost around £90 and meant that it was a lot easy to put the windows in. I would definitely have trashed a few panes if I hadn't!
The beading for the frames had about 10% that didn't fit and needed minor adjustments, but it all went in OK.
Make sure you leave space round the outside as you'll need to get around it to get the felt roof on, but that went on easily too.
All in all I am very happy with the end result, and the quality of the product.Reviewer: David James from Worcester
I ordered a Shire 7x7 Hampton corner house on the 9th February (delivered 14th) and I am extremely pleased with the service that has been delivered.Reviewer: Steve Butler from Heathfield, East Sussex.
Bought this in Jan 14 as my old summerhouse got destroyed in the early new year storms. (But it was a cheaply made basic model). So glad I now chose this Shire Hampton Model because it is superb in every sense. The quality is first class, great strong sides and roof and very good glass. So easy to put together because the factory assembly of each of the panels has been done to the highest standard and every thing slotted into place without the usual need to add your own DIY skills to get the parts to fit. Once the sides had been assembled in place (easily done with 2 persons) the roof just dropped into place without any bother at all. Plenty of roofing felt supplied to cover roof easily without having to scrimp and fiddle about to get it to fit. All latches and window fixings supplied along with good clear instructions and diagrams.Looks superb. Highly recommended. Very good value for money and we now look forward to enjoying it for many years to come.
